Patrick D. Deering is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia. With more than 30 years of valuable trial experience, he has handled cases in the federal court system and state courts. In the past, Mr. Deering has worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia and an Assistant State Attorney for Florida. His trial experience includes work as a defense attorney and a prosecuting lawyer. Mr. Deering is familiar with both sides of the courtroom and uses this understanding to the advantage of his clients in the courtroom today. His case victories include more than 100 successful jury trials as a consummate litigator and a multitude of pretrial lawsuit dismissals. He has successfully handled numerous criminal defense, personal injury and family law cases.

Mr. Deering began working in private practice in 1993 when he established Patrick D. Deering & Associates, P.C. This boutique law firm was designed to help clients in need of top-notch legal assistance in criminal defense, veteran’s claims, personal injury and family law claims. He is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia and is the lead trial attorney and head of litigation at the firm. His practice includes active participation in federal and state cases. He is admitted to practice in all Florida trail courts and Georgia trail courts, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Northern District of Florida, the Middle district o of Georgia, the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for Veteran’s Claims.

During this time, Mr. Deering was selected by the Governor’s Office as a Special Assistant Attorney General to prosecute cases in Georgia and to defend state agencies against lawsuits in the federal court.

As such, Mr. Deering represented state agencies (such as the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Georgia Department of Corrections) in state and federal courts. He defended cases involving violations of 42 USC Section 1983 and was appointed as Special Prosecutor in cases that involved violations of Georgia’s RICO standards.
